Onigajō 鬼ヶ城、Matsumoto Mountain Pass 松本峠道

On July 2, 2017 I will be leading Kōgakkan University 皇學館大学 students and faculty on a historical tour of sites along the “Old Road of Kumano” 熊野古道. Onigajō 鬼ヶ城 is both a beautiful tourist destination, because of the natural rock formations on the coast, and a historical site, because of the castle ruins that sit atop it, and the Kumano Kodō that runs from the castle down to the shore (the photo below is part of Matsumoto Pass).

1. An explanation of the Onigajō site (in Japanese).

2. The castle site at the top of Onigajō.
