This summer I accompanied 15 students from Kōgakkan University 皇學館大学 on a month-long study abroad program in the UK. We spent most of the time at the University of Kent in Canterbury. This was followed by a short stay in London. Below are the “historical runs” I took my students on around Canterbury and London. These are similar to ones I have been doing with my Ise City Running Tours. We go on short runs to visit local historical landmarks, where I explain about the places in English to students. As a historian, there is something deeply satisfying about being able to explore places with your own two feet.
