Taking Note: Syncing the Mac and iPad without the Internet

A little while ago, I wrote that DEVONthink on the iPad recently got a complete overhaul. One of my favorite features is the “ad-hoc” sync, which allows you to securely and quickly match up files between your computer and the iPad — no Internet connection, no “cloud” (third-party server), and no cables needed. Here’s how you do it.

1. Create a network on the Mac

2. Set up the network

3. Notice the WiFi mark has changed

4. Look for the ad-hoc network device
