Bryan Lowe and I organized this workshop, which was held at Princeton University on March 24th and 25th, 2012. We’re pleased to have received so much generous support from sponsors, and overwhelmed by the positive response from the academic community.
This is a link to the workshop website, which I based on a template kindly provided by Pat Geary. Going forward, with the continued participation of those who attended the initial workshop, we have created a Guide to Shōsōin Research to serve as a resource for researchers interested in the Shōsōin documents.
For those who are curious, the document in the image on this page is a small portion of a rare dedicatory prayer from the Nara period. It is held by Princeton University in the Mudd Library archives.
